Let There Be Light

Let There Be Light

On the first day the Lord did speak
And what he spoke brought forth to life 
His brilliant and magnificent light
This Light was the beginning of his plan
Even before he created man
It holds a power yet to be explained
The light he brought forth it did change
A dark and lifeless atmosphere
And has helped sustain us all these years
It was part of his creating plant earth
I'd say it helped cause the birth
Of everything that came to be
Then he set the sun in the place we see
It too brought forth his plan
And a promise then he did give
That his word would always remain
Even longer than the sun would stay 
In the place that he ordained
Then he had to make a change
And a different Son he arranged 
To shed the light on all our sins
In this Light darkness can not stay
Because his plan was to remain
As close to us as he could get
And Light was always a part of it
