Letitia In Wonderland

Letitia In Wonderland

There seems to be something every day,
now it's children's books so they say,
many great writers are of black origin,
so it's definitely time for them to begin.

There's no quick fix, for classics long ago,
they're set in stone, it's the status quo:
perhaps next generation, in the school,
a black 'Biggles' would be really cool.

Old stigmas still float quietly around,
in olden days, legislation passed without a sound,
so many things are rediculous to you and me,
like when South Africa banned 'Black Beauty.'

Winnie the Pooh, Harry Potter, give it to me,
suddenly 'The Chocolate Factory' becomes a dichotomy.
