Letting Go

I have been in the woods for a long time and I can not find my way out
Letting go of my past, I hope to find my ghost, the one that drowned in the river
The reason I am here is because I can not leave, until I find my killer
The blood on my ragged dress is tainted with the hands of crime
My soul can not let go, for it has no place to rest in heaven, it can not go about
Until the time runs out, I shall search until the trees become bare, and they fall apart
The dark can not keep me away, the shadows will not haunt me, though my love
Has also passed, he will never let me go, though my memory crushed him
Now I walk the path of death, through these woods I will find the answer
To let the creatures sleep, to let the nests hatch, and find the birth of a new beginning
Letting go to the heart of my past, I will greet you in the next life, and we shall dance once more
