Liar Liar

Liar Liar

All I know is
There's castles, then there's cradles.
There's hands and then there's ladles.
There's pews, and then there's thrones.
There's roses. then there's stones.

There's torn books up on high shelves.
As kids play ball in minefields.
There's passion frozen over.
There's pumps and then there's hoses.

Whilst our leaders fuel fire through white noses.
Blackened hearts in what they've chosen.
They know - been caught red handed.
Whilst stuck in tricky poses.

So no, I did expect.
To be left so damn astray.
In recent hieroglyphic texts - they're not so clear!

I didn't vote for them anyway...

Hello The fish of the sea...

We just have to absorb it...

Our way still has to be much better in the end...

Otherwise, we would look like they do with those snarl lines all over their face...

They think the make up covers it all...

It does temporarily...

They just don't notice it after the first snarl of the day...

If you haven't noticed it...

You will...

Great write!

Thank you for sharing...

I did not vote for them either.  None of them.  Libertarian baby.  Love the poem and message.

Thanks Greg. Usually I strive to make my poems politically neutral, but at any rate, politics has more flaws than most topics. Glad you liked the poem!

Politicians kill more people every year than opiates, alcohol, malaria and great white sharks combined .. I wouldn't trust hardly any of them ..

You make a valid point here that more than adequately touches upon the collective corruption and often narcissistic delusional beliefs of a few and the catastrophic impact it can and does have on largely innocent lives and livelihoods .. Neville

Thanks Neville, I agree with everything you've said, to be honest I've always wanted to write about politicians. I struggle with relevance and originality whenever I write. Glad this one struck a cord with you. Hope all is well Neville! Cheers Mate
