Poem -

Life

Life is just a bowl of cherries,
Some are bitter, some are sweet,
Deep in each are stony trials
Each of us will come to meet.

Some days bring a bowl that's bitter
when from life we take a bite.
Mostly though we find the sweeter
Days of joy, of love and light.

What would be the joy of sweet ones
If no bitter days we'd known?
When we neared the bowl's completion
Would we even know we'd grown?

If not for pain that ended life brings,
Would we really know the joys in living?
Should fading love not bring broken heart-strings,
How would we know the true joys of giving?

Fill your bowl and eat it well
Don't fear the tastes within it.
Laugh, Cry, Love, without reserve
And savor every minute.
