Life Can Be…

Life can be so harsh…
        so busy at times,
time just doesn’t allow.
       Sympathy an antique of the long past, unfamiliar to more recent years.

Life can be so tough…
       so costly at times,
time so hard to afford.
     Selfishness an acquaintance of all who exist, familiar to more recent years.

Life can be so unjust…
        so many unwilling ears,
when words heard could mean so much. When did we allow ourselves to get here
and at what cost will it last?
