Life in the Time of Corona
The grandkids have arrived, but they won't get a hug
It's really not fair, all because of this bug
Dad puts the shopping down outside the front door
Nanny waves from the window, but not a lot more
"Love you, Nana!" shouts the little one, ever so sincere
Nanny smiles, blows a kiss and sheds a small tear
A quick conversation then it's back in the car
They'll see her next week, maybe get a choccy bar
Nanny longs for the time when they can all go for a ride
But she'll get through this crisis with her family by her side

Hey BIGMOOSE!!
This is VERY well conceived and BEAUTIFULLY delivered verse!!β¦..with a perfectly crafted A,A,B,B, ~ C,C,D,D, ~ E,E, rhyme scheme....can't recall what that Scheme manifests as....is it a Sonnet?....something like that....gotta look it up.....Regardless, my point being that you have obviously written poetry before......and you do it VERY well!!β¦...ALL STARS!!β¦..well done dear poet brother!!β¦...and.....WELCOME to COSMO!!β¦...LOVE & ROCKETS!!β¦...T xoΒ : )
Hi,Tony! Thank you for your kind comments.
I think a sonnet has 14 lines.
Hopefully I will be able to make some more contributionsΒ
to this lovely place in the future :)
Aw...so sad wonderfully written piece.Β
Thanks, Poetess, glad you liked it.
I don't have any grandkids, but I can imagine
what a frustrating time it is for grandparents right now :(
