Life Isn’t Fair

This beautiful brown human being is King. This beautiful brown human being is Queen. We come in all shades non greater than the other. I still consider you my sister or brother. From the way I style my hair, to the way I dance on beat. I’m black and I’m proud say it out loud! I’m black and I’m proud! I’m a gift from god and the heavens above, the way the sun reflects on my body. The way I strut when I walk there could never be a carbon copy.  I’m still human, flawed and equal to all. Don’t treat me any less I know my worth. They say bad things about me in the newspaper don’t believe their dirt. Converse with me, explore the earth with me, work with me grow with me. Most all of get to know me! Understand where I come from before you predict where I’m headed.  Ghetto makes me different, their perspective made it bad.  We can make peace not war. Together we can change the narrative and speak our own truth. Teach our elders and our youth.
