Light Still On

Light Still On

Light Still On

by S.L. Northey

No Jupiter spectating eye
Forget Pluto as if never found
Earth some forgotten place
As the solar system's Star burns out

A Star's light still seen after a million years
Light travels through infinite space
Light remaining onĀ
Some other solar system it appears

Light still onĀ
After millions of dark years
As some other life form counts their stars
Never knowing faded, that they count upon

Light it will travel infinitely
After a Star's light shines no more
To others this star seen still twinkling
Millions of years past its own Milky Way

Infinite star counted upon
Each night of some place millions of years away
Light remaining on, so it seems
Years after this life so fades

Infinite light so it appears
No Jupiter's spectating eye
Pluto as if never found
No Earth, as if a forgotten place

By the Star's own death it found
Light still on
Millions of years from now
Faded as a Star they count upon
