Prayer Somehow

Prayer Somehow

Prayer Somehow

by S.L. Northey

Prayer sent beyond the lips
Hardly no sound a voice could make
Caught and trailed into the wind
Like a scattered leaf blown away

Charts some course wind swept path
The last aspire drifting among the air
Words kept calling from voices in the wind
Gives the words reverberating sound

Its belief crying out for one last chance

As lips tremble with no power to move again
Eyes fixed in some gazing loom
Eyes feel heavy and the breaths not long
Tired the mind starts to fall asleep

The prayer sent beyond those lips
Some leaf blowing in the wind
Belief in that request, was given
Peaceful drift as if nothing elseĀ

As you look up stands a man looking down
Voice loud and so far away
Help is coming, as he holds your hand
Then you remembered what you prayed

Days go by but that mind still fixed
How that day seemed lost for now
One thing is sure, beyond any doubt
That prayer was answered in the wind somehow
