Like A Child

How does my breath betray me?
In the space that is unending.
When we put our cares into a plea
When we understand the need
To ask a force far greater
Than the powers that be
To become like a child
Suspend our thoughtless greed
To recognize how small we are
How our lives are not in vain
That we can over come the pain
That we can rise above
If we remember our creator
Seek His help and loving hand

Such a positive beautiful write Violet...trust in the light to lead us wherever we are destined to go...hugs ?
We need all the positive poetry right now that we can read. Thank you for sharing your poem, it was well written and inspiring. I tried to pick out just one favorite line and could not decide. Wonderful job.
Favorite part:
I really like the line,
To become like a child
When you get older, you think back to a more easy time, life was less painful, there were less people who have passed on, dreams are more vibrant when you are young. Then, one day, you turn the page and you are walking with a limp from arthritis, you look in the mirror and cringe, especially when the "youth" point out, your age. I also think the poem represents hope for the future, whether our youth, or the youth of our grand children and future of the planet. We can all contribute to the world -- all by picking up a pen, or using the keyboard to write.
Thank you for sharing your poem.
Be safe out there.
Bless you for making my day!
I found myself wanting to avoid
The virus news this am and felt a longing to create something .Amid so much death and loss of livlihood, and sadness I wanted to leave something for my fellow dreamers.
Again thank you
Violet
