LIKE A LOST CHILD - POEM BY WILLIAMSJI MAVELI
LIKE A LOST CHILD

Squeezed between vows and broken trust,
I rode grief's dark wings, seeking rest.
Beneath Garhwal's moonlit, silent crust,
I found a nest, a mountain's breast.
Like lost child, to mother's hold I came,
In nature's womb, a fervent, deep embrace.
Regrets, like whispers, borne on winds of flame,
Released to peaks, they vanished from this place.
A glacier's dream, a distant, melting gleam,
I clung to heart, where solace found its start.
Unmoved, it watched the shadows' restless stream,
And hushed the bickering rustles of my heart.
A chilling opera, in darkness deep,
Where spirits sang, and captive winds did moan.
I crouched within, where wild embrace would keep
And shape me, seer, on frozen, lonely stone.
On high, I pondered, guest or host, unknown,
And shared my heart with darkness, bare and vast,
A forest's soul, where seeds of truth were sown,
In moments felt, that time could never cast.
