Lingering shadow

Lingering shadow

I press my hands to my head

Close my eyes and take a deep breath,

Once upon a time I loved you.

Now, you're making me feel crazy.

I know you're playing me,

Like your best hand in a game of poker.

I feel used,

Abused,

You've gotten what you want,

You've broken my heart,

Now why won't you leave?

You're hanging around like a shadow in the dark

My heart is aching

Begging you to go.

Though I don't have the strength to make you.
