LITTLE BOY BLUE

LITTLE BOY BLUE

Poor little boy blue, suffered such a terrible fate
at the hands of thugs, who were filled with hate
A turf war was to blame, why three shots were fired
And you young lad,was killed outright, expired

Eleven you were, you`d gone to play your favorite game
a keen Everton supporter, Rhys Jones your name
you loved football, you were at practice that night
dressed in your kit, team colors of blue and white

You  walked home through the car park, of the local pub
shots discharged, and you were hit by the second slug
Your mam got to you,she held you lovingly in her arms
no mother should witness, her child, be fatally harmed

Its been ten years now since Rhys Jones has passed
his mam and dad still hurt in pain, their loss will ever last
Such a senseless killing of an innocent lad, was little boy blue
and his killer just sixteen at the time, now serves his sentence through

This was an horrendous crime of a turf war between gangs where
Rhys Jones was caught in the line of fire, and was shot and killed
Currently there is a drama on television here in the UK
showing the events as it happened In 2007.It is called Little Boy Blue and it is so sad,
Rhys would be nearly 18 now, ahead of his Birthday his parents
agony is, he will always be 11 to them...
R.E The picture is of the actors who play mother and son in the drama
the middle picture is of Rhys Jones

It's a terrible tragedy and the parents have been waiting for the truth to come out ##

Losing a child is the most devastating experience parents can endure ## so sad really.

Thanks for sharing this.

Hi  Leah I  agree the waiting for the trial must have been horrendous
for the parents
but the police were meticulous in the collecting of evidence
to convict these criminals
The last episode was screened last night.
Sometimes you think i know this is going to be so sad
and it was, but out of it all it was good to see justice
for this young lad and hopefully a little closure for his
parents, although i agree with you, the loss of a child
would be the most  devastating experience to happen to
any parent
Thank you for your comments
Best wishes Debs

My Dear Debs,

What a beautiful tribute you have written to this little boy, Rhys Jones.  He was a victim of man's inhumanities, and his plight brings abundant tears to all our eyes.  It is so wonderful that they have immortalized him in a lovely drama.  Thank you for bringing this tragic story to all our attention.  I will end this with a little poem of my own.

.

Little Boy Blue come blow your horn

For we know you're in Heaven, and His love you adorns

Your Mother and Father, cry ever for you

For they could never love more, their Little Boy Blue

.

Hugs, Peace and Love,

Larry xxx
