A London Moment

A London Moment

A London Moment

The old city is in a mist today
The rain has watered
the concrete of old London.
Paving stones are shiny and wet

The black silk of the umbrellas
Make patterns below from
the windows of the office towers.
Moving around like scurrying beetles.

All the singular worlds of those
Beneath them protected from
The onslaught of water.
As though it would burn the skin.

The scene changes
as the blacked ribbed umbrellas
change into bats wings.
Seeking a cave to hang
upturned in the dark.

A blue patch appears overhead
And the falling raindrops cease.
Color returns to London
As ladies pass by adorned in
summer printed dresses.
