Loneliness

Rather be alone

Loneliness

For loneliness he calls for me every single nightĀ
He wants to play that game again of anger hate and spiteĀ
To try and push me down once more raging with regret
And I everyday I battle with him to show that I forgetĀ
I turn to brighter colours that In My life appear
But still I feel the dark shadows of him always creeping nearĀ
As long as I keep them behind I’ll never see his face
But what happens when I tire of this all consuming chase
When loneliness he calls for me I try to shut the door
But soon he has me crying till I’m laid upon the floor
As with him he brings along memories of the pastĀ
No sensitivity or understanding, emotions thrown a-cast
So loneliness please leave me alone at least for a little while
So I can just see the colours again and remember how to smileĀ Ā
