Poem -

Loneliness

My eyelids, heavy, closed shut

yet so aware of the injustice churning in front of them.

My broken heart disgruntled, left helpless

when I see you there in the corner kissing her.

My brain overwhelmed by the fact

that you don't even take notice of me, not for a second.

My weary hands reach out into the distant beyond

further and further into darkness, to no avail.

My feet stumble over what could've been

and uneasily tread down the path of rejection and loneliness.

Our eyes meet, lips touch and tongues intertwine

I would rejoice in this dream forever, if it were only for but a second
