Long lost lover

Long lost lover

I was fourteen & walking with my friend
Our eyes locked as you were walking the same as I,
We stopped & asked who of us would you date
You chose me, I was elated, nearly I could fly,
The years passed by, as we made our mistakes
We learned of intimacy & love, took its toll,
The loss & hurt for years I felt as we're over by end of school
Seeing you with your girl & husband, tore me to unwhole,
I wish sometimes I could go back & do it over again
For the path I chose was worse, its killing me inside,
As one beam of light shines on my shadow & soars
For glad was I, in her life to be loved by her, mine I still hide.
