Longing for Life

Tapestries of yellow, green, blue, and red, are painted everywhere, in the portrait of my life
I feel the warmth of the sun, and I see the crystal clear sky, and the deep red of umber in the earth
Longing for life, as my mind plays tricks on me, I remember waking up, but sometimes I forget if I sleep
My pain is more severe, it has moved throughout my body, I had only a small spot in my lungs in the very beginning, as the driven snow blows in you will blanket me
But needless to say, this does not stop me, this does not stop my loving, and wanting more, for life has meaning
I may weave it in a dream weave, wanting only good dreams to survive, the wolf is my friend, and I will follow in his path
The prints of my path, the time spent in the wild, in the valley, in the lakes, in the mountains, they all take my breath
I am longing for every moment, in all time that exists, to have each and every second, to be rich and pure, as the spirit of the earth, and the sky have given me
I will take these memories, and the earths fossils, forever to know another decade, of a true desire, an indulgent passion
A longing for life, a native dream, a longing to survive, to know my life has meaning, to beat this cancer inside, as I fill my hands up with eternal life exasperation

Dear Nancy,
Your soul is deeply connected to the spirits, you walk amongst them, a world that has guided you, so far, they have always helped your life have meaning, if at times you feel you are walking in the desert, then keep walking sweet soul because at the end you will arrive at your oasis. We are walking with you.

Charlotte, that is very touching, and I appreciate your read, I love to write, mostly meaningful, some not so much, but the power of native American is in me, and the power of reaching out to others in need.
Thanks again
