Longing To Return

Longing To Return

I gaze into the stars
My world becomes less clear

Playing in my head

The memories I hold dear

Yearning for the days

That seem so long behind

When I could be and do

Whatever came to mind

Playing in the yard

A stick became a sword

With a wild imagination

I was never really bored

Looking back now

It all went by so fast

How I wish to return

To that childhood long past
