living behind a mask

the fear closing in

the smiles just a outer shell

of what I used to be

dreams fall into the distance

losing your place in life

cancer sets into the skin

destiny distorts into tragedy

when all is lost

the image of a man so strong

the scars to many to deep

no hugs or comfort makes the beast go away

others see a statue

forged of strength and stone

now to only stand in its shadow
