LOST IN BETWEEN
A POEM BY WILLIAMSJI MAVELI

LOST IN BETWEEN If you are listening, hear this trembling sound,
I'm too far lost to ever turn my stride
Toward sanity, where cruel, cold thoughts abound;
They swear I feign this ruin I cannot hide.
This hollow grave that settles in my breast,
Proves that my bitter sorrow is profound;
No hero comes to put my fears to rest,
Nor mighty sword shall strike my foes unbound.
I am the dragon and the one that's slain,
The whispered prayer and silence after all.
Oh, if a hand yet reaches through the pain,
Or any door still answers to my call,
Then take some pity, grant a saving grace,
Ere endless dark claims this deserted place.
