Lost In Reflection

If only tears could instigate fertility
And the rain of regret fall to reinvigorate
I would no longer fear the death of me
And its onerous path to retrograde
The garden despoiled
Before the life beneath can grow
Pummeled by the antithesis of my desire
At the periphery of doubt amid neglect
As I glare the dreary sky
InΒ wonder of where they go
To return, never to be mine
Or to await my subdued breath
ββββββTrembling for the restive woe of irony
The death I breathe when dreaming
In wait of all I see, in wait, the only reason
But all the while rejecting
Much more than my own life
As the lonely wander past my grave
And I near the spectral presence
Of their longing, lost in reflection
With no release to vindicate
The futility of fear
If only these briers bled to glisten
And my pain reflect the path for me
I would no longer mourn the undying vision
The flame that burns to never be
Seeking life through scalded eyes
I cry the light, the mirror screams
Don't die for them, but live for me, your child
Raveled between twilight and the abyss
As the shadows fade, with the ash of my deceit
