Poem -

Love

I heaved my heavy heart through the wind and rain
Towards the familiar face family had to ease the pain
Constantly replaying the past haunts my fragile brain
Reaching the door, tears fall as I crack under the strain

Then a light pierced the dark when unexpectedly you came
To soothe and scoop me up, a stranger except your name
My chest held against yours, now two hearts beat the same
Something inside us drawn in like a moth to a flame

Finally strong arms tenderly held on to support me
Wrapped up in safety yet I'd never felt so free
Your eyes tried to hide what I could already see
They shone and danced, told me who you want to be

Two souls with a greater love than the deepest sea
We'll become an island, cocooned in our glee
Settling in security, plant the seed of our tree
Which in time will grow to be strong, that we agree
