Love Hurts
When we met, I thought I had found love at last
I was over the moon with joy
How was I to know you'd leave so soon?
How was I to know you never meant what you said?
How was I to know we were never meant to be?
I keep asking myself why I fell real hard
All I'm left with are memories of sweet moments we had
My heart is so broken
Now I know love hurts!
Alas!......joy has a slender body that breaks too soon!

This is a lovely piece sweetie. Love can be so painful, especially our first experience of it when it goes wrong and we are left feeling so bereft. Hi Rose A sad poem of losing a love
so special to your heart, We more often than not blame ourselves
when really it is not our fault. This hurt is hard to get over
when your heart is broken but time is a great healer i think

Hi Debs, It hurts deeply when you lose the one you though was special. Often times, we blame ourselves because we feel that if we had done things differently, we wouldn't have lost them. Yes, time is a great healer but sometimes it's difficult to love again when you're hurting. Thanks Debs for reading and your words. I'm inspired.

Hi Sweet Rose,
Love oft times hurts, with the pain of it being unrequited. As with myself, it took several bouts of despondency until finally, the right one came along. And instantly, the pain transformed into endless joy. Never stop searching, for it will come eventually.
