A LOVE SET IN STONE

Beneath a pale and purple moon
Midnight...musky blossoms bloom
Windy gusts of lilac lust
Will shower her in faeries dust
Her wings begin to flicker bright
Radiating magics light
Once again...she comes to life.
A solemn statue carved in stone
Dwells in this garden
Amongst the gnomes
Nocturnal be this maidens plight
Her fairytale
Shadowed by smite
Cast aside
Upon the night
Never to witness the days sunlight
From dusk till dawn
Residing...forlorn....
Lady of the darkness.....
Once again...reborn
Her eminence obscured
By oblivious grandeur
Thus the blackness depletes
A light in her...pure
An envious enemy
Hides her here...in despair
Unaware....godforsaken
She resides in his lair
Her statuesque grave
Upon daylight hours
Lies motionless...lifeless...
Towering high above flowers
Then as the horizon
Sets the sun down to rest
The first twinkling star
Seen afar in the west
Stirs the stone into motion
As the full moon bares crest
A dimly-lit garden
Prepares for her wake
Rocks fall from her sculpture
To the ground...
As she shakes...
Rippling the water
Awaking the lake
Alone...once again
Only known by the one
Who cast her away
Shielded from the sun
And then without fail
The fairy returns
To sprinkle his glow...
How was she to know....?
Was he friend or foe.
But he loved her so
His beautiful song
Was keeping her safe
From a world full of wrong
To protect her heart
So gentle and kind
But emotions played havoc
With his sad, guilty mind
Deciding to tell her
Of all that he did....
Keeping her here...
So secretly hid
Yet the maiden just smiled...
With her battered eyelids
Then whispered these words....
"Please my love"
"Don't be absurd"
"Why would you think now,
 Any anger be heard?"
"For I've known all along...
 That you were my prince"
"As you visit me now...
 And every day since".....
"Your love for me...
 You don't need to convince"....
Ashamed .....
The fairy then blushed with surprise
For such a long time
His beauty....
His prize....
Was his all along
How he felt so unwise
Now together....They watch
All the suns set...
And every sun rise.....
