Love Sonnet No:2

Inspired by the song Bloom by The Paper Kites

Love Sonnet No:2

Oh how morning splays its radiant gaze
To gently coax those heavy laden eyes
That dream of perfect lazy summer days
Where doting souls collapse as they collide
To shine like iridescent summer rain
Which spills and thrills, to quench two thirsty hearts
Where words no longer hold the weight to claim
The depth of which these lovers feel apart
For beneath the starlight spangled, lamplit sky
Where dreams evoke the souls that wish to seek
An imprint of their love sits in each eye
A waking souvenir for them to keep
To feel the sun's radiant morning kiss
So softly placed upon their wanting lips

Being Me

You know? I could never be bothered with Sonnets. I was always like...no thanks!
I used to just write and rhyme and have no inclination towards any "form" of structure. Then I wrote that Shakespeare one and I have since written more...often not even intending to write one and out one pops lol. They do make for a beautiful poem though, as yours so clearly demonstrates here x

Tina I was the same, I never considered the structure. I would just simply write whatever came to me, but like you say. Even though these days I do look at structure more, I still manage to spit out poems :) those tend to be the best kind. Can't wait to read more from you. I am cracking on with your book my friend. I got delayed after I fell down my stairs. But happily enjoying the read now. I think your pen has a mighty mind behind it 💖

Gwen such a hauntingly beautiful and melancholic piece that strikes a chord into every heart that has been through this sadness and all love's mixed motions and trials.
Perhaps we never really will understand why...but rather learn to live with the unanswered question.
A captivating piece!
And deservedly pinned and added to my treasure chest.
A great write Gwen.💖

Gwen just caught you kind comment and thank you and just for the record I was going through your back catalogue of poems or sheer poetic class I should say before my hols and will pick up tomorrow from where I've left off.
And I forgot to mention yesterday how music, songs or even a simple word in them, phrase or even a melody can inspire a poet/poetess to write and deliver a poem that's unique and reads like a  song of music.
So with regards to this poem, your poem and in the words of Abba I'll end by saying, thank you for the music.❤️
