Loyalty unspoken

I walk up the path and see those eyes
I hear a happy whimper, a sort of cry
A wag of the tail and a bounce like a flea
My loyal furry friend coming to greet me
I’ve only been to work but to him that’s enough
We’ve both probably had the same day worried and tough
But all that melts away when he jumps up for cuddles
And the happiness when out we go splashing in the puddles 
Dogs our loyal and full of trust 
You are their life, protect them is a must
