Lullaby

Are voices in white noises
Much louder than my heart?
Dark mirrors shade your secrets
Of which I have no part.

Oh gentle stranger, fear me not.
My static sparks won’t harm you.
This storm cloud breaks into soft rain
In blink of tearful eye.

Green dragonfly wings humming
Stir shivers in blue seas.
I feel those waves embrace me.
Yet I’m not what you see.

Oh gentle stranger, fear me not.
My wringing hands won’t fight you.
They pray instead for ways to praise
And draw your comfort sigh.

Marked butterfly crawls, short life,
On pulse-flick of your wrist.
Do you feel how she trembles?
Does she know whom she’s kissed?

Oh gentle stranger, fear me not.
I wish but to deliver
A lullaby as you close eyes
In this unknown love’s quiver.
