Lullabye

Lullabye

Hush mine child hush,
Thou cross cheeks ablush.
Know thou art secure,
InnocenceΒ resides pure.
Rock mine child rock,
Heed twilight hour on clock.
Muffled cry in the night,
Β Eyes so aglowing bright.
Rest mine child rest,
Be assured thou be blessed.
Dwell in draped slumber-land,
Β Dusted by the sandman.
Lips sing sweetly,
Melodious so greet thee.
Eyes so drowsily slip,Β
Hitching breath on soft lip.
I be sorely amiss,
Β To deny tender kiss.
Upon downy haired brow,
Β I promise a vow.
Mine armsΒ securely hold,
Until I be old.
Someday soon I be abed,
And thou must rock me instead.
