Make Someone Happy
　
It’s nice to make someone happy,
and bring a smile to their face,
For me it’s worth its weight in gold,
and keeps you in your place.
To find a shoulder to lean on,
or find a helping hand,
Are all that someone could hope for,
in this harsh and selfish land.
What “goes around, comes around”
is very easy to say,
Everyone knows it’s meaning,
but it’s very hard to play.

The smallest present or tiny gift can make a face light up,
This is the reward I would like to see,
for this cheap and selfless act.
It’s not so much the present or gift;
you give that brings a smile,
It’s the thought that counts as we all know,
and it makes it worth your while.

I cannot deny that it brings a tear to my eye,
when I see a child crying,
I wish they could see what it means to me,
inside where I feel like dying.
They don’t understand, they are far too young,
to appreciate what goes on,
Their innocence and pure of heart,
will protect them from all the wrong.

The old man on the street that lives beneath a box,
he begs for a cup of tea,
You cannot know what is in his heart,
this you will never see.
He tap’s his hat and gives you a nod,
to thank you for your donation,
Now you can walk on, with your head held high,
feeling a slight elation.

What is the cost, you’ve laid out so far,
to bring this happiness daily ?
A couple of pennies, an helping hand.
Is a small gift you would give gladly.
