Man Damn, God-King

As the prophets foretold,
"They" knew...
I grew
To slay
I slew
A warrior in my age
Champion and god king
I reign in the days
Of legends
Many will tell of my odysseys
From the battlefield stories
To my coming of crowning gloriesÂ
The ambitions of mine
Conquering realms and shadows
Creating footstools from thought enemies
But inner me
Could not intercedeÂ
The intricacies of peaceÂ
So my soul grows cold,Â
'weary'Â
Not from conflictÂ
But the lack thereofÂ
The sword, my beloved!
Must take its mantle of rest
For there is more to be a King..
God
Damn Man
As the prophets foretold,
"They" knew
I grew
A king! To live for the peopleÂ
Yet I've found no equal
Except, the eyes of my concubinesÂ
That straddle my lust
A queen to solidify the thorn
A women of her ownÂ
In accordanceÂ
That settles my temper and ration my moodsÂ
Cool, calm and elegantÂ
Heaven sent
To complete my maturationÂ
The manifestation of a royal family
My legacy
So times can be remembered and reminiscedÂ
The kingdom rejoicesÂ
With jolly and mirthÂ
The birth of a prince
God-king redeemsÂ
As the prophets foretoldÂ
They knew
I grew old
And scripture revealed
What was predicted
The reign of greatness
Would not be eternalÂ
Yet the torch would be tunneled
Through the bloodline
Though the flame may dwindle
Its light will not give way
Though the flame may dwindle
Its light may yet show way
Conquest, Wisdom and Legacy
Even kings aren't without limits
Bound to the authority
To which bestowed it upon them,
God-King
