Poem -

The Master

Don't need walls, or pews, or pastor
to know that you are near.

I need only step outside my door
      to see you're always here.

Your presence boasts its magnitude
      in the tall unyielding pines...

In the valleys, fields, and rocky hills
and in the sweet coyote's whine.

You ice the greens with flowers,
     their colors so appealing,

but life is sometimes black and white
    and often what I'm feeling.

So when I sense a darkened mood
    I don't seek a closed-in space.

I search the "Light", look for the "Son",
and that's when I see your face....

reflected in the bluest sky
    embracing bovine pastures.

Who'd dare to doubt your awesomeness
or deny You are the master.
