Mazes

Minds matter

I've been up the same corridor
zigzagging between levels
As if I'd lost my bearing easily
Long corridors have led me to the same destination
to confront and confuse
A fragile mind
Days of cleaving rocks in my mind
weighing down my fragile wings
My ears are pricked to the sound of doom
and skies loom over my head
Not having to gave tasted fear in a while
Words have meant the difference between breaking or bending
dark leathers match the imprints on my bones
Shimmering pommel shaped like an eagle in midflight
Halls echo too loudly for me to attack
Iron chandeliers swing around iron cages
The skies move in closer
She stood her guard
A soldier waiting on the horizon
