ME AND ME

the last horse on a still roundabout

Picking scabs
from this rearranged body
marking the blood
 stigmata and cross
fleeing  forgotten eyesight
 huddle in starlight
derision drifts sails within  dawn

Walk unburied earth
barefoot the wooden crutch
spread the sex
as autumn demands

Cautious face creeping shade
cracked dirt-filled flint splinters
seethe pale bones
collected in thought
seams of worked years
blister beneath exposed vomited futures

Strange curled twisted bars
emerge in frail encased grins
toothless hunted prayers
slip into specially arranged slots
saturated ears invalidate the day's concerns

Dusty twinkling children
slip vacant without noise
scented hands
decapitated frames
rust as cloudless storms
preach another perfect
prayer

ancient prayers which fall as autumn comes
pain...
