Meadow Rose

Upon meadows artistry grows
There grew most envious rose
Scanning all colors it saw
Taking count, oneβs own flaw
Not seeing forest for glade
If only it had riches to trade
Lulling βneath balmy sunbeam
Embittered by no self-esteem
Petals soft as silk
Flowing like natures milk
Β Exquisite tints of indigo blue
Dazzling each breath it drew
Blossom yonder envious too
Coveting heavenly hue
What wouldnβt they bestow
How divine itβd be to grow

Nature is such a rich source of inspiration for the poet. You use it to great effect in this poem. I like how you give feelings to this rose, sort of akin to anthropomorhising animals. Great opening line and I really love the line "embittered by no self esteem." Some great rhymes, a touch of alliteration and I love neath in a poem.Β
