Poem -

Memory of hunger

Memory of hunger

You brought me food, so grateful

Willing your way into my life

I, the poor man

You - the beggar's friend

Our bags together packed

Walking the streets in the haunted lonely night

The only sound,  the wheels

Stumbling over the bump

Now a carriage fallen over

And a soul that cries

I am a supermarket trolley

Carrying your sustenance

From the shelf into your belly and

I'm still leaning

Upon a trolley

Wonderfully full, now

Empty

From a fallen over time,

Our bags packed together

Walking the streets

In the haunted lonely night

A memory of hunger
