Mercy

Words of mercy easily spill,
Wistful notions on a windowsill.
Kindness nary reach scarlet eyes,
Benevolent evil in disguise.

Diamond barbs strip tepid skin,
Boundless void lurks within.
Hold screams tight in a throat,
Sanguine flows, sacrificial goat.

Rasping breath like fetid meat,
Too tardy for a safe retreat.
Quicksilver a vacant stare,
Keen fangs reflected there.

Lights dim from depth so bright,
Greedy lapping at midnight.
Heady smells of  bloody-tide,
Weariness phasing deep inside.

Frenzied rips of flesh unfold,
Skin on skin pressed so cold.
Sanity flux like trickling rain,
Spattered softly on the pane.
