Midnight

Shimmer like the waning moon,
Compassionate, peaceful, and clear
Summer air pure as fresh snow,
Petals dancing along the zephyr.

Delicate silence descending with ease,
Sedating the passage of time
The predator’s call breaking the breeze,
A symphony of rhythm and rhyme.

Midnight, lift me from my sorrow,
Grant my heart and mind rest
An when the sun yields tomorrow,
I’ll carry Midnight’s peace within my breast.
