MILLENNIUM BABY

Let me tell you a little story
Based on a little girl's life, and I guess in the end she turned out 'alright'.

She was born in the millennium year
Her parents adored her, her mother cradled her in her arms
Her dad stared into her eyes, everything was perfect
She had an older sister, and now she had a younger brother too
Everything took some sort of bad turn when she was only 2.
A year later her mother left and it was obviously upsetting
Her life was full of these 'mistakes' and her regretting every tiny thing
It was like a force of darkness was pulling her by a string.

Lets fast forward about 9 years
Her mums behind bars now
This 'little girl' isn't doing too well
She feels lonely and lost
Yet everyone seems to have forgot she has feelings too
She took those feelings out on herself, she didn't ask for any help
She wanted to suffer and feel pain
She felt so numb, because of the rejection from her own mum.

Here we are now the girls 16
She wishes that she could forget all that she has seen
Her life is far from perfect, but everything she went through was worth it
She gained both strength and hope
She believed that one day she would get through it and cope
And look at what she did... She went from being this broken kid
To the most outgoing, bright and courageous young woman
One day she will become who she wants to be
I know this because that 'little girl' is me.
