Missing Morpheus

Missing Morpheus

My main man mighty Morpheus, I miss you now so much;
In years past, you brought me slumber, with your magic Midas touch!
But now that I am older, I get very little sleep;
I wake up in just three hours, my sopors are never deep!
.
I survive on little catnaps, around three or four a day;
Twenty minutes each, will do me, so quietly I lay!
Then I’m good for a couple hours, until fatigue again sets in;
My eyelids slowly drooping, another nap begins!
.
But is it a curse, or a blessing, to be conscious so many hours;
To exist on sleep abnormal, and have rare recuperative power!
I think that it’s the latter, for each minute that I’m awake;
I am creative and productive, these inane poems I often make!
.
.
My subtracted sleep
Wakens my mind to great heights
Up, up and away
