Missing you, it does not consume me

You see my life is different now

So there really is no room for you in it

But I know with all of my heart that if you were here I would make it for you

Missing you, instead, is a constant ache

One that I only feel in the silence

But when I feel it, oh do I feel it's entirety

I feel the fullness I felt when you were here and I try desperately to fill it again

Missing you comes in waves

Sometimes it comes with our favourite songs and sometimes it comes all on its own

It is not a feeling that I resent

It is one that I love even when it hurts

because I know I am lucky to have someone to miss this much

So thank you

For letting me miss you

For creating a space for yourself in my life

But please come back to fill it one day
