Moment In Time
Stood gazing at the irredescent, moonglade
shimmering relentlessly over the crystal waves,
now stilled by the wind.
Her mind rushed to the horizon
seemingly still, yet ever receeding.
Under the same moonlight
illuminating the beauty before her,
she wished her love could share
with her forever
this moment in time
So many moments in time that held
him suspended.
Within her memory heart.
Echoes of precious days spent enwrapped
within each other.
Mindlessly devouring that sacred commodity
that for them soon
would no longer exist.
That familiar face, now hazy,
but still held within
this special, unique and
never to be recaptured
moment in time.

Really beautiful poem, full of melancholy.
I have to ask though Lady Lodigiana, are you an avid Countdown fan? Moonglade came up as the tea time teaser and ever since I have been thinking about the word.
Your friend Nigel
hahaha yes Nigel an avid fan of Countdown indeed and when I heard the word I was immediately drawn to write something!!! such a lovely word isn't it? My husband roars with laughter at me as so often I hear a word or see something and . as he says ....'Off I go composing' Always enjoy your commenting It makes my day! . Lodigiana xx
OK!!... you guys have to tell me what "Countdown" is...... it seems like it keeps popping up in my life..... and STILL I have no idea what it is!!....PLEASE fill me in....sounds like something I need to know about !! .........regardless....a gorgeous write from what I can gather!!.... smiles......T xo. :)
Oh Tony I wish Countdown as exciting as you might be imagining ..but it is an afternoon tv programe which basically is creating words from 9 letters randomly selected, with also a numerical game and anagram solving...the one Nigel and I were talking about was on yesterday and one of the words made up from the 9 letters was ‘Moonglade’ and clearly both Nigel and I had the same thought that it was a beautiful word to use in poetry, so hence my latest offering...I will look forward to Nigel's.So my dear friend I am guessing Countdown is pretty tame for your wild lifestyle but we old cranks look forward to watching it whilst knitting!,, Thank you as always Tony for reading and commenting ..big hugs xxxx
Hi Cherie, oh you are so right...how sad life would be if we never had the chance to experience the joy of love..even if the aftermath can sometimes be sad..but in a way that makes it all the sweeter ,,Thank you so much my lovely girl always so happy to hear from you. Lodigiana xxxx
