Moment's Notice

I spend so much time,
Thinking how not to waste time,
That it's lost.

Metronome hands,
Running laps,
Circle,
Face of clock.

Counted for moments past,
Counting towards moments to come,
What do we call the little place;
Between the tick,
Between the tock?

The most important part of the hourglass is the center.
That's where life lives.
Standing like monuments,
Beneath my nose.

It took me too long to notice.

Busy building castles,
In sands of the past,
Sands of tomorrow waterfall,

Bury me alive.

Stuck in pits,
of quicksand,
Glass casket bulb.

After yesterday.
Before tomorrow.
Wasting away,
Today.

I like this alot.  You're right.  Time is precious and we think too much on living rather than living itself.  Well written.
