Monkey Moon Man

Monkey Moon Man

Monkey Moon Man sat in the sky, with stars all around, but didn't know why.

So he asked the earth how they hung there so high.

"Maybe by string?" The earth replied.

"There is no place for the string to be tied." "Silly earth" Monkey Moon Man sighed.

So Monkey Moon Man spent day to day, wondering how the stars hung there that way.

Untill his good friend comet flew by to say hey,

and here is what Comet had to say, "The sky is a blanket, upon which they lay!"

"But there is nothing to hold the blanket in place" Monkey Moon Man stated, frown on his face.

Already knowing this could not be true, Monkey Moon Man wondered, maybe nobody knew...

Then along came a star much to his surprise! Excitement  beaming from his monkey eyes, " How are you way up here, help me realize!"

"A question with a simple answer, you see, way up here there is no gravity!"

Suddenly Monkey Moon Man looked worried and began to call, " Help me please, I'm going to fall!"

The star laughed asking " Tell me please, where will you land?" A forrest, the ocean, some dessert sand?"

"Tell me again, what did I say?" There is no gravity, you'll be OK!"

But Monkey Moon Man has one more question you see, Monkey Moon Man wants to know "What is gravity?"

yeah!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! I 'knew' this poem would 'stand out' this month, Amanda, it really is near impossible to say one poem is 'better' than another, it's like judging 'food' but you got very high marks for creativity, originality, subject matter and how well I remembered it a week later (my opinion) great choice, keep writing your fascinating work, cheers poet
