Monster ( domestic abuse )

Monster ( domestic abuse )

His Carmel coated skin still haunts me
His charcoal eyes still invaded my sleep with endless nightmares .
Except they’re not nightmares at all . It was real .
Every black and blue bruise that coated my mothers innocent skin was real .
Very sleepless night I sat and watched tears escape her aqua eyes was real .
All them nights I told my sister it’s all okay mummy and him are playing , were real.
The monster who steals my sleep and drains my skin of its healthy glow is real .
But I will not cry , my head will stay held high because I can keep the monster way until the sun sets , until he decides it time to come out and play .
