Poem -

maybe I am tainted

maybe I am tainted

Maybe I am tainted
A canvas not yet painted
A shell of who I once was or yet to become
A functioning hand without its thumb
Maybe I am not perfect but does that make my damaged
Because my body is a goal which I have not yet managed ?
Maybe I am tainted , not quite the same
Because I have allowed societies ideal images invade my brain .
Maybe I am not strong enough to kick them out
No matter how hard I hit no matter how loud I shout .
Because society has changed me , along with you too
We are all so encaged now ,it is like visiting a zoo
Maybe I am tainted but I sure as hell am going to fight
Because maybe I can fix this maybe I might .
