Moon
For Greg Etsell, inspired by Barcarolle
MoonÂ
Softly loomÂ
Your silver hues
Elude my minds eyeÂ
Where loves sweet tune-
Blooms out and criesÂ
From hearts that croon
In dreams which bindÂ
FindÂ
Entwine
Your twilight hazeÂ
So I may batheÂ
Brave to soak into your lightÂ
Oh moonÂ
Bring forth the blessed nightÂ
Covet meÂ
In your star spangled canopyÂ
So I may seeÂ
Betwixt your luminous allure Â
Within the confines of your tranquil sea
The hidden treasuresÂ
Which conceal
Your SanctuaryÂ
I seek and endeavourÂ
To savourÂ
Your celestial flavourÂ
Trip the heart Â
With your cosmic sparkÂ
Where true loveÂ
Shall never waverÂ
Oh moonÂ
Gently unfold my dreamsÂ
Drift me into lovers streamsÂ
Till morning breaks your lulling songÂ
To rip me from whence I belongÂ
Written after talking with Greg about his lovely poem called The Gypsy Dancer. Which made me think of my favourite song in the choir I was in. The song is Barcarolle. Which I have shared a video. Thank you Greg for your inspiring write

Gwen what a fantastic write. And a lovely tribute to one of the kindest souls on Cosmos. Passionate and professionally written verse in this one. Showcasing true perspective, that not all brilliant poems have blank rhyme schemes.Â

Hi, Gwen, this strongly reminds of several favorite and fond memories shared with my wife, like once perhaps twelve years ago I was driving home from a client run, having my wife on the car phone who was doing the same about 150 kilometers North of me and watch a full moon rise together. Or back in 1998 in Ireland at Old Head of Kinsale watch the Moon light a path on the Atlantic. Thanks for reminding me. đđ
Thanks John, so lovely to read your memories. So pleased this gave you a happy reflection :)Â
Many many thanksÂ
GwenÂ
