Moonsong

(A 7/5 Trochee)
*********

*

You are all the World to me,
I am but your moon,
Held by your great gravity,
Or I would soon swoon ...

*

Falling from the orbit where
I have been so long,
I would crash and smash and there
I would sing this song!

(The 7/5 Trochee, created by Andrea Dietrich,

of 2 or more quatrain stanzasĀ with the following set rules:

MeterĀ 7/5/7/5. Rhyme Scheme: a/b/c/b Ā or Ā a/b/a/b.

The meter is trochee, which means alternating stressedĀ and unstressed beats in each line,Ā with each line beginningĀ andĀ ending in a stressed syllable.Ā

This is a little and simpleĀ lyrical typeĀ poem, so rhymes will be basic, nothing fancy.

The poem itself should give a description of something ofĀ interest to the poet.

ThereĀ isĀ notĀ aĀ setĀ numberĀ ofĀ theseĀ quatrainĀ type Ā stanzas,Ā butĀ aĀ typicalĀ 7/5Ā TrocheeĀ wouldĀ consistĀ of two quatrains, with the second stanza servingĀ to tie up the idea presented in the first stanza.)
