More Than Words

More Than Words

A winning poem,
Something to read with meaning,
Touching the soul of another,
One who sits bleeding.

Wounded ones who cry,
That's who I write,
To say words that bring healing,
And soothe the bite.

One searching for truth,
Not just for the pleasure,
As they stumble along lines,
Ones that read as treasure.

It's for those seeking wisdom,
A book of reason,
That which held in hand,
Wisdom for every season.

Rhymes making perfect sense,
Not twisted as such,
But every sip to taste,
Like pure gold from a cup.

I wasn't downing anyone else's writing in the least. If you took it that way, I'm sorry. I was making a point that it is beautiful when you can touch another soul with your words. That was all I meant. Everyone expresses themselves I different ways, as you know I do as well, and write all kinds of genre on different topics. This was just on my heart. Thanks for the kind (not) words of encouragement. ❤

Hi Denise, I really like this one. Especially the last stanza.

Rhymes making perfect sense,
Not twisted as such,
But every sip to taste,
Like pure gold from a cup.
